FORM FOR ADMISSION TO B.Tech. LATERAL ENTRY SCHEME

Important Instructions for Filling up the Admission Form

Candidates are advised to read carefully the following instructions before they fill in the admission form:-

1. The candidate must have passed three year’s Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc(Non Medical). However the candidates appearing/appeared in 6th semester Diploma examination/Final Year B.Sc. can also apply to appear in LESET 2024. Such candidates have to produce their original marks cards before or at the time of counselling/selection, if they figure in the list of the candidates qualified or called for counselling as the case may be. If a candidate called for counselling but fails to produce original marks card in the qualifying examination at the time of counselling, he/she shall not be considered for admission.

2. Fill the Application Form online only.

3. The name should be filled in CAPITAL LETTERS and should be the same as given in the certificate of the last examination passed.

4. Self attested scanned copy of following documents be uploaded i.e. Domicile Certificate, Diploma/B.Sc Degree Certificate, Category Certificate, recent passport size Photograph, and Signature. Uploading all of these is MANDATORY.

5. The applicant automatically comes to know about the fee details once he/she clicks the ‘SUBMIT’ button after filling the form online.

6. Print two copies of the filled in form. Candidates have to submit the printout of duly filled in Application form downloaded from the aforementioned link along with the Demand Draft in favour of the Principal, GCET Jammu in the office of the undersigned by post on in-person Latest by 26.07.2024.

7. Admission form incomplete in any respect shall be rejected. Seeking admission on the basis of false identity, misrepresentation by submitting false certificates/ documents or suppression of any material fact is unlawful and will result in cancellation of admission.

8. In view of rampant reports of fake certificates and fake Universities, the University reserves the right of screening applications of applicants who have obtained their qualifying degrees from Universities other than  University of Jammu and evaluating their competence before considering them for admission in a manner as decided by University from time to time.

9. Admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right.

11. Last date for submission of Online Application Form is 19-07-2024.

12. Candidates belonging to General category are required to pay application fee of Rs.800 and the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/EWS category are required to pay a fee of Rs. 500. The Fee should be in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Principal, Govt. College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu payable at Jammu. The Candidate Should Keep the Demand Draft Ready before Submitting the Form.

ELIGIBILITY:
The Applicant must:
  • The Candidate Must be a domicile of UT of J&K
  • Have passed three year’s Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc (Non- Medical). NOTE: There is no upper age bar for appearing in the Entrance Test for Admission to    Engineering Courses, both in Government and Private Colleges.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • No under process certificate will be accepted;
  • The information provided by the candidates in the online Application Form shall be verified from the original documents at the time of Counselling and Admission. If at any stage, it is found that the candidate has provided false or incorrect information in respect of any eligibility condition(s), his/her candidature will be cancelled without any further notice.

NOTE:-

  • The sports category candidates have to indicate their sports category in the Application Form. They are also required to submit their Sports points at the time of counselling issued by the Secretary, J&K State Sports Council Jammu/ Srinagar.
  • The candidates having more than one reserved category shall get benefit of the category indicated in the Application Form, which in no case can be changed. The candidate, whose category certificate is not found valid, will be considered in open merit, if otherwise found eligible without any further notice.

Important Note :-

  1. After Submitting the form, if this message comes Form not submitted Sucessfully, it means required information has not been filled properly This problem also comes due to slow internet speed or outdated version of Internet browser. Please fill up the form once again untill you get an Registration number and form is submitted successfully.

Important Dates :- 
i. Filling of on-line application forms 26-06-2024 to 19-07-2024  
ii. Date of LESET-2024 shall be notified separately on the Website/Newspaper
